So next time we are asked to get something out on Twitter or are told we need a Facebook page (or whatever) we need to remember to listen as much as to talk; to advise as much as to do; to think strategy rather than tactics.
Chris has spent the past 25 years in Public Relations working in the voluntary, public and private sectors. She worked in-house for Barclays Bank which she first joined as Head of PR for Barclaycard. Chris went on to hold a number of PR positions across the bank looking after areas as diverse as business-to-business, international, Corporate Social Responsibility and IT before finally taking up the position of PR Director for the Barclays Group.
Since leaving Barclays Chris has worked on a number of free-lance projects including lecturing, mentoring and media and crisis communications training. Chris is also an Associate Lecturer at the London College of Communication, part of the London University of the Arts and a Course Leader for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Diploma which is taught at Masters level. She has also developed and leads the CIPR’s online Crisis Communication Diploma.
